IMAPs-UK’s Advanced Packaging for Compound Semiconductor Applications Conference 2018

Accelonix Ltd was proud to participate in this year’s Advanced Packaging for Compound Semiconductor Applications conference, which took place on 8th February 2018, in Birmingham. This one-day event focused on advanced packaging solutions specifically addressing the challenges associated with compound semiconductor packaging applications.

The workshop included an array of electronics packaging experts and practitioners to present a comprehensive review of advanced packaging technologies applied in power electronics, photonics, RF/Microwave and sensing, where compound semiconductors are already making a big impact.

Darren Harvey, Sales and Applications Engineer for Microelectronics at Accelonix, delivered a presentation entitled “Addressing Compound Semiconductor Packaging Challenges”, covering three key technologies: Die attach sintering for high-power devices, which included the handling of fragile compound semiconductors; Vacuum potting for high power applications; and Vacuum soldering for high power, high reliability applications.

Barry Hampson runs the London marathon for Mental Health Charity, Mind.

Barry Hampson marks 10th marathon, raising awareness for the Mental Health Charity, Mind

Barry Hampson, Test and Program Sales Manager for Accelonix Ltd, is participating in this year’s London Marathon, taking place on the 22nd April 2018. Barry is undertaking this 26.2-mile marathon in support of Mental Health Awareness as he raises money for Mind, a charity providing information, advice and support across England and Wales to individuals experiencing mental health problems or concerns.

In training for his 10th marathon, Barry has spent the last months building up his stamina over some intense training sessions, running with his local club, the South Cheshire Harriers, in addition to getting in the miles in between customer visits, across the UK and Ireland. Passionate about fitness, positive mental health and overall wellbeing, Barry has completed a number of cross country runs as well as half-and-full marathon road races over the years, raising money for a number of charities. His first London marathon was in 1987 and this year sees him return to the streets of London, this time motivated by his commitment to Mind.
